Artist's Comments

So...I totally spent forever on this painting...and i think it was well worth it.
Assignment for methods and materials...my favorite class.
anyway...i wanted to do a zelda fanart before the year was over....so, here it is!
Done with Dr.Martin Dyes...Really hard medium to use, since it stains the paper and is unlike watercolor because once it drys, its pretty much stuck there. I dunno...i wasn't a fan of the dyes, they are so transparent, but they produce bright and brillant colors. I mixed some colors with a bit of acrylics to make them a little opaque.
This was a really fun project to work on, hope you all like it! Sorry for the crappy picture...I don't have a scanner large enough, so i had to take a photo on my digital camera ^^;

Very well done! Reminds me of those celtic knot arches - nice touch with the trees in the bg. Good job!

Nice pattterns!
She seems a little wide at the torso. Around the rib cage. She has something of a body-builder structure.
All in all, great job!

I got a chance to see the original today in my Kim DeMulder class (figure drawing). The shading is so well rendered. I'm sad it's impossible to see the awesome shading job you did on the skin though.

The original is veeeery brightly colored though I think I like the blue over cast you have on the picture it tones down the colors.
